You just asked how to help your child memorize words.
I want to answer, but it can only depend on your kid.
Let me tell you my experience of memorizing words.
First he can just memorize the vocabularies from the syllables at least 7 times.
It is inevitable for him to do this kind of boring process.
Second he should read the Oxford graded readers，which will help him to solidify the words that he just learned.
Last but no least important, he should do exercises much more often which will help him know the exam points.
When he does English exercises, if he comes across words he does not know, he should write them down in a pocket book which he can bring with him wherever he goes.
This is a good habit to review them wherever he goes.
This is my method of memorizing words.
If he can listen to me, he definitely can score high in exams.
